Mas sobre la experiencia

Today makes my third day in Costa Rica. There are so many things to learn but luckily my spanish is already catching on. I haven´t taken that many pictures because it randomly rains for like 5 mins and I never know when its going to be. My family is lovely I love every second with them. Yesterday we had orientation for classes and I found out what classes I´m taking (yes, I forgot) and here is my schedule:

Monday: Lantin America and Its Cultures: 1pm-4pm, Latin American Dance: ?
Tuesday: Spanish Conversation: 11am-12pm, Survey of Art II: 1pm-4pm, Latin American Cuisine 5pm-6pm
Wednesday: NO CLASSES!
Thursday: Spanish Conversation: 11am-12pm
Friday: Latin American Literature: 8am-11am

I am excited about all of my classes because I am not in a language track which means I don´t have class every morning from 8am-11am because I have already taken the equivalents and they won´t count for anything else but yeah. Classes start tomorrow and I still have no idea how to use the bus. Ha, I need to figure that out!

On another note, I love sitting and talking to Mila about different things. She showed me her art and itw as so cute. She says she wants to be a grafic designer or an engineer. She teaches me alot because she knows a little bit of english so I can sometimes ask her how to say something. Also, I finally met my other host brother Diego last night and we decided that he is going to help me with Spanish and I will help him with English. So before I caught the taxis (which was an experience in and of it self, I´ll explain later) Diego and I conversed on the couch. He would talk to me in English and I to him in Spanish, its a neat little friendship! But I know you are dying to hear about my first alone taxi experience so here it goes. So, to get a taxi you have call.. yes, thats normal but when I called I was supposed to tell them my address and there was so much noise from all the operators I froze. I sat quietly on the phone until finally I just blurted out the address. Diego laughed and finally took the phone and asked for me because I was too freaked out. It was so scary to ride alone in a taxi. Leah and I walked around the city of Heredia last night and it was nice. We had no idea what to do so instead of going out to the bars like I´m sure all the other exchange students were doing we wandered about the city and finally ended up at McDonalds. It was hilariuos. Yes, it was our second day and we went to McDonalds but only because Leah had to use the bathroom. But anyways, we got a McFlurry to share because it was one that you can´t get in the states. I dont remember what it was called, something like Tapika maybe. Idk but it was DELICIOUS! hahah oh well.

My taxi ride back (it was only like 10) was interesting because after he pulled on my road he asked me which house and I didn´t recognize any of them for a few minutes and then when I got to the gate I had a time trying to open it and I got really nervous because WHAT IF I WAS STUCK OUTSIDE ALL NIGHT? hah my door was interesting too. Apparently you have to unlock it and then pick it up a little for it to open and I sat there for like 20 min trying to open it with no luck so finally I gained the courage to knock. I´m not sure if it was acceptable but I had to get in. Of course my family was asleep too. AH! whatever, I knew something like this would happen so I´m glad its over with. Hopefully, I¨ll know how to open my door next time. bahah.

Well, enough for now, ADIOS AMIGOS! (more like amigas because boys don´t use blogs very often)

I am already very jealous of all the experiences you are having in costa rica. I know you are having an amazin tie, and I prayed for you this morning that you could hopefully find some time to have Jesus time, whether it was with a few people, a lot of people, or by yourself. Your schedule looks amazing - and I can't wait to hear more about it!

Your picture frame of your beautiful face is on my desk, but it's not as good as your real face. I hope you have a great first day of school!
