awkward and awesome thursday round TWO.
Haha, I had so much fun last week with Awkward and Awesome Thursday I decided to do it again. Round TWO begins...
Syd, she's so cute |
Awkward.
-Parachute (Hammer?) Pants. I'm not sure who decided they were cool but I can't do anything but laugh when I see someone wearing them. The extra fabric is wasteful and quite honestly doesn't flatter many people. Come on, let's leave it to MC Hammer guys.
Sorry, I can't approve.
Just look at those crotches. It's like a game of "Does you crotch hang low?"
-My breakfast when I have hotdogs in my eggs. She calls it "Salchicha" which is supposed to be sausage but I know the difference between Hot Dogs and Sausage. Come on, I'm from the United States. Don't try to fool me and my hot dogs.
Some of the faces I make when I eat it.
-The fact that McDonalds here has "McPinto" because one of the "comidas tÃpicas" (typical food) is Gallo Pinto which is rice with beans and McD's would make it fast food. Oh and Gallo Pinto is different than rice AND beans which makes a "casado." Oh yeah, I'm learning.
There it is for all to see.
-Riding on a bus with a ton of people for 5 hours to the Puerto Viejo and half of them use the "F word" or say "GD" every five seconds. Alright, I get it that that Ticos don't speak english but wow, classy. Oh, and if you could respect God a little more, that'd be great, thanks! MGMT.
-Taking the bus home and a mother whips out her boob for a 18 mos old child. First of all, it's probably time to stop breastfeeding, I know its cheaper this way but when they can ask for your boob I think it's time. I think its a beautiful thing between MOTHER and CHILD not the whole bus. I know its culture but ew.
-Corduroy Skinny jeans in 80-85 degree weather. So, the ticos always where long pants, thats why you can tell the tourists, but I'm sorry when its 85 there is NO reason to wear corduroys and in the form of skinny jeans is even worse. I know she was sweating and there is no need for all that.
Awesome.
-When I went to the post office yesterday and had tons of things to send (some a little heavy at that) and the very nice employee weighed them all, took the lightest and charged me the same for all 5 things. Some people are just plain nice.
-The fact that bus fare is 140 colones which equals out to about 30 cents. I can go all the way to school into town and back for 60 cents. Beats my Prius.
-My HOT doctor. We locked eyes, he told me I was healthy and then... Jk, but it is nice to have something to look at when your waiting in those super boring rooms to be helped.
You know, something like this.
-The super cute canvas polka dot back pack the girl who had the skinny cords on was wearing. I wanted it. I guess that made up for her lack of knowledge that it was hot out today.
-I GOT MY PERIOD! haha. After my small group prayed about it and I linked it up on Awkward and Awesome Thursday, it worked out and now I'm happy.
-FRO(zen)YO(gurt). Yes, there is a fro-yo joint here and I can't wait for Leah and I to hit it up. Cause we get ice cream about every other day.
-The cornbread I just downed. When I left this morning it was corn in a pot, now thats what I call home-made.
