The trophy of my singleness.
This story isn't really for those people that don't like being single or alone. This is for the girls that are owning it and are enjoying themselves. I can't say I've always been this girl, because girl, I promise you, I haven't. If you don't believe me just read some of my other posts on here. I'm a quality time type of girl. I crave spending time with people (large amounts of time) and I used to be the girl always looking for someone to marry and complaining about having to be alone. However, lately I'd say since probably early winter, I've enjoyed being alone and this moment the other day solidified that for me in so many ways. I've learn to enjoy eating dinner alone, going to the gym with girlfriends, hanging out with who I wanted to hang out with when I wanted to hang out but also staying home on a Friday or Saturday night to do nothing because I don't always want to be doing something. Anyways, this story all ends with a stuffed animal from Dave and Busters. Yup, I said it, a STUFFED ANIMAL from Dave and Busters.
Let's start this story off by saying, before we got to the arcade, my friend Alana and I were talking about the times we had been to Dave and Busters and for both of us any time we had ever gone to Dave and Busters it had been on a date or for an ex-boyfriend's birthday so this time we decided we were going to enjoy ourselves with some friends. We decided to split a Power Card and points so that it would be cheaper. As we were playing we were so excited that we didn't have to fight anyone or wait in long lines for games that we didn't want to play. Instead we could waste all of our points on games we liked (or came to like). In saying that, we played lots of skee ball, basketball (not for me), racing games, knocking down the clowns, and our new favorite arcade style Monopoly. (you gotta try it, well maybe we got lucky because we earned lots of points!) Anyways as the night ended, we took our card to the prize hub to figure out what we could get with our points. We had about 862 points (which was thrilling since we got more than any people in our group who spent more money on tokens) which meant each of us could use 431 points each. on ourselves. with no one to complain what we were getting. or anyone to use them on something we didn't want likeshot glasses or boy toys. We set our eyes on these stuffed animals.
They were 425 points each which meant we both could pick out our favorite and we could take it home to our own houses without having to share making us the happiest girls you'd ever meet. (Do you see the look on our faces? I like to call it pure joy) This ridiculously small stuffed animal instantly became the trophy of our singleness. Every cry we had ever had, any thoughts we thought we had about being alone, and every fun moment we had recently was marked by these silly little stuffed animals. What an exciting time is this! So listen, single girls in your twenties (thirties, forties or fifties), love yourself, learn how to enjoy hanging out with yourself, and earn yourself a trophy for your singleness (and please share it with me!) Sometimes it's tough, but man is it rewarding. It's one of my favorite life lessons I've learned and that's saying a lot from this extroverted, loud personality girl. Haven't you heard the quote "Love yourself girl, or nobody will." Well, except me, I love you.
Also, how crazy is it that almost a year ago today, I wrote this post and look where I am now.
