You don’t have to have it all figure out to move forward
I have had quite a few people take interest in my life change. This looks like replying to my Instagram stories, reading my blog, leaving comments and even texting me. I love this because it gives me the space to talk about what’s on my heart and help others discern what’s on theirs. The funny part is is that I feel like I don’t have anything figured out yet and today as I’m reading “She’s still there” by Chrystal Evans Hurst she wrote something that really struck home and what ultimately I chose to be the title of this blog entry. “You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.” (Amen and amen!)
Let’s be honest, everything that I have figured out so far has been over two or three weeks time. I decided I wanted to move, found a job, put my house on the market and went under contract in a matter of weeks. (We will just give a big shout out the God for allowing everything to work out so timely!) But what did it for me? That’s the question I keep getting asked over and over.. What made you make up your mind? Aren’t you scared? Have you found a job? Where are you going to live? Are you running from your problems? These are the questions people have asked me over the last couple of weeks and boy have they made me think. I mean all the logistical questions have an easy answer “well if it works out, we know it’s meant to be, right?” That has taken a lot of bravery to actually believe... so much so that my realtor calls me one day and goes “so I can tell your a little nervous” UH HECK YEAH I AM, THIS IS ALL WHAT IM USED TO. But the moment that I decided to listen to my heart, everything changed. The unknowns didn’t matter, the losses felt a little lighter, the moment I gave myself the space to think and actually listen to what I’ve been saying for months, it all seemed to fall into place even though my ducks were still all over the pond. But the best part is that I didn’t have to have any thing figured out to move forward. And neither do you.
Maybe you want to start a new career or apply for that job you’ve been dreaming about. Or you’ve been afraid of love and you’re just not sure if you wanna dive in. Maybe you are avoiding a hard conversation or you’re holding onto something you know isn’t going to work like I was. Be brave! Take the first step. And then take another. Who knows to what glorious place it will lead you? I guarantee you being uncomfortable for a time is worth it. You are worth it!
