I'm obsessed with the enneagram.
Anybody else out there obsessed with the Enneagram personality test? Some of you may be asking "what is that?" Basically it's another one of those personality tests but I feel like it's the most accurate for me. Yes, there is Myers Briggs (in which I'm ENFP), True Colors (in which I'm orange), and many others but this one just speaks to me and I don't know why. Based of of Your Enneagram Coach, each type has their own Core Fear, Core Desire, Self-Image, Core Weakness, and Core Longing. WHICH IS WHY I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I feel like you can really see people for who they truly are once you get to know these things about them. I like this one so much because I feel like I can read the different types of people and pick out what others are in my life. For example, my fiancé David, he's a type two (The Giver or The Supportive Advisor) to a T. I was able to figure it out because I know him so well so when he took it, he was able to validate what I suspected. Type twos want to be loved for being themselves, desire love, they fear being unworthy or unneeded, they see themselves as helpful and considerate, their weaknesses is their pride getting in the way. If you know David, you know how much this kid loves love. He wants EVERYONE to be in love. He wants to give his advice on relationships (unsolicited and all - lol). He thinks I'm mad at him if I don't send him heart eye emojis.. It's just who he is. He wants everything always to be lovey dovey. Which I love about him. It forces me to stop and realize how much he loves me and how he wants to show me. But it can also drive me crazy because that's now how I am. I don't read how much someone loves me based on how many times they tell me or send me emojis. This is where enneagram gets interesting to me. It's where two personalities meet each other that fascinate me. My core desires, fears, weaknesses, and longings are not the same as Davids so for him to be able to see/feel my love, I have to adjust how I show him. Same for him. He has to bend/adjust to my needs to show me love. Sometimes it works flawlessly and other times it doesn't, because we're human and that's okay. For these reasons, I love the enneagram. It allows me to see how I lack what he needs and adjust to it. I am able to know him better and be better for him. It's amazing and I'm obsessed.
