friday funnies - chapter one.
I want to start a theme for a post I would do on Fridays. I wanted it to have alliteration or rhyming (because that's who I am as a person - I like to say "Bunday Mondays" when I wear my hair in a bun to work on Mondays .. or during the winter I would say "Flannel Fridays" if I wore flannel..IDK I'm weird like that) I used to do this thing a long time ago (yes, I've actually had this blog for like 10 years lol) that was called "Awkward and Awesome" Thursdays but I got that from a blog I loved called "The daybook blog" - she doesn't write as much anymore so I didn't want to steal it. So I came up with Friday Funnies. Friday funnies are going to be funny things that happened to me during that week. Hopefully they'll actually be funny and you'll enjoy them, so here we go. Chapter one of Friday Funnies begins...well.. here.
1. Gym Toots. My coworkers and I go to the gym everyday after school and sometimes we get the toots. They're out of your control. They happen at times when they shouldn't but hey! Maybe that's why people wear headphones so they can't hear them. Headphones don't block smell though... lol
2. School Pizza. Remember rectangle pizza? Now they have Hexagon pizza and it's just good as I remember. I don't know why this is funny... maybe because I'm 28 buying school pizza....
3. Phone calls with my Grandma. Literally she roasts me the whole time. It's hilarious. She doesn't even know she's doing it. For example, I called her when I got engaged and she goes "how old are again?" and i told her "28." and then she said "well that's a good year to finally start making big girl decisions".....HA. She's a hoot and I never want to forgot that conversation
4. Being a teacher and recently married. Most of my day consists of forgetting my last name and being surprised every time someone is talking to me. Imagine my students saying "Mrs. Martinez" over and over and I keep on doing my thing until they're standing really close to me and I realize they are speaking very loudly...so I start paying attention only then realizing I'm Mrs. Martinez.
5. Spiders. Okay spiders aren't funny... but when you're the only adult in the room of 28 fourteen year olds and a students says "Mrs. Martinez, a spider!" and you jump on top of a student desk and scream "someone get it!" that's pretty funny.. or is it sad? you can decide.
6. Dancing at stop lights. You may or may not believe it but I love Taylor Swift. And sometimes on the way to school I have to hype myself up by singing. Well this morning in particular got a little weird when I stopped at the light closest to my school and looked over to the car next time. I didn't stop dancing, I didn't stop singing, I just stared into the eyes of a lady who was not as hype as me... we locked eyes for 30 seconds or more. I never stopped. She didn't laugh. I didn't smile. Just locked eyes as I was dancing/singing. Maybe she should take a hint and jam out on the way to work? Maybe I should stop? We'll never know.
